David Wallace, MD, MPH, is a pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus specialist. He has particular interest in treating strabismus (misalignment of the eyes) in adults and children, pediatric cataracts, and retinopathy of prematurity. He also treats children with other eye problems such as amblyopia (lazy eye) and nasolacrimal duct obstruction He has led several national multi-center clinical trials in pediatric ophthalmology, and he has lectured nationally and internationally. Wallace is the recipient of Achievement and Secretariat Awards from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and an Honor Award from the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. He has served as President of the NC Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and he has been honored as one of the Best Doctors in America.
