Education

The Duke Pediatric Ophthalmology clinical fellowship offers comprehensive clinical training in all aspects of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

Our fellowship is nationally recognized as a top program, consistently drawing strong candidates for a rigorous year with exposure to strabismus in children as well as adults, in addition to a wide variety of pediatric glaucoma and anterior segment surgery, retinopathy of prematurity screening and treatment, pediatric neuro-ophthalmology, and pediatric oculoplastics.  Fellows pursue clinical research projects during their training, regularly present their work at the AAPOS annual scientific meeting, and publish in quality peer-reviewed journals.

Many of our graduates pursue academic careers, while others are well prepared to engage in quality clinical practice in the private setting.
