Duke Eye Center proudly hosted the 37th Annual Duke Glaucoma Symposium, a premier educational event designed to showcase the latest innovations in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma. Under the leadership of Course Director Jullia Rosdahl, MD, PhD, the symposium brought together ophthalmologists, researchers, and trainees for a day of dynamic learning and collaboration.
This year’s program featured presentations from Duke Eye Center faculty and distinguished guest speakers, highlighting novel diagnostic tools, emerging treatment modalities, and clinical pearls for improving patient outcomes.
It was our privilege to host two nationally acclaimed experts in glaucoma care as our Keynote Speakers:
-
Christopher T. Leffler, MD, MPH
Associate Professor, School of Medicine, Ophthalmology
Virginia Commonwealth University -
JoAnn Giaconi, MD
Health Sciences Professor of Ophthalmology
Chief of Ophthalmology, Greater Los Angeles Veterans Administration
Co-Director, Medical Student Education in Ophthalmology

Their keynote lectures provided deep insights into the evolving landscape of glaucoma diagnosis and management, with a focus on evidence-based strategies and real-world applications.
The Duke Glaucoma Symposium continues to be a cornerstone of professional development and innovation in ophthalmology. We thank all attendees, speakers, and organizers for making the 37th edition a success.
