Borkar Featured in Ophthalmology Times Video on Emerging Wet AMD Treatment

Durga S. Borkar, MD, MMCi, was recently featured in an Ophthalmology Times video interview discussing results from the phase 2 DAVIO2 clinical trial evaluating EYP-1901 for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

Recorded at the Women in Ophthalmology (WIO) 2026 Summer Symposium in Monterey, California, Dr. Borkar reviewed the study's design and key findings. The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating that a single dose of EYP-1901 was noninferior to aflibercept on best-corrected visual acuity outcomes while significantly reducing treatment burden. She also highlighted the therapy's favorable safety profile and its potential to provide sustained disease control with fewer injections.

Borkar discussed how EYP-1901's broader mechanism of action may address challenges faced by patients requiring frequent treatment and improve care for those with wet AMD.
