Duke at AAO 2021

Duke Eye Center is proud of our continued presence at the 2021 American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Meeting that was held November 12 -15, 2021. Duke faculty and trainees contributed to live presentations, on demand presentations, scientific posters, papers, and skills labs.

Laura B. Enyedi, MD received 2021 Secretariat Award for AAO service including AAO ONE Network Editor for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Clinical Spokesperson for the AAO, Vice-Chair of the Practicing Ophthalmologist committee and AAO Special Projects Committee. Dr. Enyedi also received the 2021 Achievement Award.

 

Sharon Fekrat, MD, FACS received the American Academy of Ophthalmology Secretariat Award in June 2021 for her service as Co-Editor of EyeNet's Ophthalmic Pearls section for 20 years and her stewardship as EyeNet's Retina Section Editor.

 

 
Vitreoretinal fellow Grant Justin, MD received the 2021 Achievement Award for his contributions made to the Academy, its scientific and educational programs and to ophthalmology.
 
 
 
 
 
Terry Kim, MD, Duke Cornea and Refractive Surgery Division Chief received the 2021 Senior Achievement Award for contributions made to the Academy, its scientific and educational programs and to ophthalmology.
 
 
 
Cynthia Toth, MD has achieved the status of Life Fellow/Member in 2021. The Academy commends her for her dedication to lifelong learning and advancing standards of care over her 35 years of membership and deeply appreciates her loyalty and long-standing support.
