Duke at ASCRS 2023

The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) held it's annual meeting May 5-8, 2023 in San Diego, California. There were over 30 Duke led sessions.

Duke Eye Center residents and fellows were honored with several awards for their presentations and posters:

    • Best Paper of Session (Preoperative Tests and IOL Paper Calculations III) - “Development of a Novel Lens Power Calculation for Yamane Intrascleral Lens Fixation”
  • Cason Robbins, MD, PGY2
    • Best Paper of Session (Surgical Outcomes) - “Incidence and Outcomes after Scleral-Fixated Intraocular Lens Implantation”
    • Honorable Mention (Cataract Posters) - “Quantifying Aqueous and Plasma Levels of Phosphorylated Tau-181 in Individuals Undergoing Cataract Surgery
    • 2nd Place (Glaucoma/Retina/Pediatrics Posters) - “Incidence of Posterior Segment Complications after Boston Keratoprosthesis Implantation”
  • Kevin Jackson, MD, PGY5
    • Best Paper of Session (Surgical Complications) -“Comparing IOL Formula Prediction Error after SK/PTK and CEIOL Based on Ablation Pattern”

Lee Ann McKinney, COT, OSC presenting her poster, "The Desire to Hire: Applying Methods from an Established Technician Training Program to Hire, Train, and Retain the Next Generation of Techs" at ASCRS. Lee Ann is the director of the Duke Ophthalmic Technician Program.
