
On September 4, 2025, Duke Eye Center welcomed Jeffrey Goldberg, MD, PhD, Professor and Chair of Ophthalmology at the Byers Eye Institute at Stanford University, for the Joseph M. Bryan Research Lecture.
Dr. Goldberg delivered a compelling presentation titled “Neuroprotection for Glaucoma: Bench to Clinic,” in which he explored the evolving landscape of glaucoma treatment. His lecture highlighted the translational journey from laboratory research to clinical application, offering valuable insights into how emerging therapies may reshape the future of glaucoma care.
In addition to the Bryan Lecture, Dr. Goldberg also participated in Duke Eye Center’s Friday Morning Research session, where he presented “Gliotherapeutics Is the New Neuroprotection.”
Dr. Goldberg’s visit provided an enriching opportunity for faculty, residents, and researchers to engage with one of the leading voices in ophthalmic science. Duke Eye Center is grateful for his contributions and the knowledge he shared with our community.
