Duke Eye Center Researcher Receives Basic Science Staff Appreciation Award

Three members of the School of Medicine staff received 2016 Research Staff Appreciation Awards. Peter Saloupis, Laboratory Research Analyst in the Department of Ophthalmology, was one of three and received the Research Staff Appreciation Award in Translational Research.  Peter was nominated by Scott Cousins, MD, vice chair of research, for his exemplary support in translational research projects.

“Peter Saloupis is an exceptional individual who has truly been an "unsung hero" to so many of us here at the Duke Eye Center. The thread of his career has been integral to the fabric of our Department for over 30 years, and he has contributed in a myriad of ways, as our research program has transformed from a small group of investigators to the robust multidisciplinary research environment of the Albert Eye Research Institute. Without question, our Department and our faculty have benefited from his many contributions.”  Dr. Scott Cousins, Robert Machemer, MD, Professor of Ophthalmology and Immunology and Vice Chair for Research in the Duke Eye Center

Congratulations Peter!
