Duke Eye Center Supports Athletes at Special Olympics North Carolina State Games

On Saturday, May 31, Duke Eye Center proudly participated in the Special Olympics North Carolina State Games at NC State University in Raleigh. Our team partnered with Opening Eyes, NC a initiative that provides free vision screenings and eyeglasses to Special Olympics athletes.

Dr. Melissa Daluvoy, Director of Opening Eyes, led the effort, ensuring that every athlete received high-quality, personalized care. Volunteers from Duke Eye Center—including faculty, fellows, residents, medical students, ophthalmic technicians, and administrative staff—came together to make a meaningful impact.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this event. Your generosity and commitment to service reflect the spirit of Duke Eye Center.
