Duke Reading Center Instrumental in Grading OCT Images in Landmark Study

The Duke Reading Center, including a team of Duke expert graders led by Glenn J. Jaffe, MD and and Cynthia Toth, MD participated in the design of Comparison of AMD Treatments Trials (CATT) and graded tens of thousands of OCT images for a landmark study whose impact was discussed in a recent editorial in Ophthalmology’s latest issue.

This clinical trial provided data to support the use of off-label bevacizumab for neovascular AMD, understanding dosing regimens, and early evidence correlating anatomic and vision outcomes. We are pleased to have Duke faculty take part in the team effort to produce these valuable results and analyses regarding treatments for Age-related macular degeneration.
