The 56th annual meeting of the Retina Society is being held October 11 – 14, 2023 in New York City. The mission of the Retina Society is to "reduce worldwide visual disability and blindness by encouraging education and professional interaction of vitreoretinal specialists, providing optimal care for patients with vitreoretinal diseases, and encouraging, through clinical and basic research, the discovery and development of new means to further patient care."
Several Duke Retina Faculty and trainees are participating in the meeting by leading and moderating sessions and presenting posters.
Dilraj Grewal, MD, FASRS and Lejla Vajzovic, MD, FASRS presented during the Interesting Case and Video Program. Grewal and Vajzovic also presented during the scientific sessions, along with Eleonora Lad, MD, PhD, Glenn Jaffe, MD, Durga Borkar, MD, MMCi, and Sharon Fekrat, MD, FASRS.
Duke Eye residents Angela Li, MD, PGY3 and Yuxi Zheng, MD, PGY4 presented posters, along with vitreo-retinal surgery fellow Xiao Zhou, MD and former fellow, Nita Valikodath, MD.
Borkar was inducted into the Retina Society during the meeting.
