Eye Center Moves up in Ophthalmology Times' Rankings

The Duke Eye Center continues to move up the rankings in the Ophthalmology Times' annual Best Program survey. The Eye Center is represented in four categories for 2007;

  • Best Overall – ranked 5th, up from 6th in 2006
  • Best Clinical- ranked 6th, unchanged
  • Best Research - ranked 6th, up from 7th in 2006
  • Best Residency Program - ranked 5th, previously ranked 6th in 2005

The rankings are determined from a poll of 174 chairmen and residency directors of ophthalmology departments in the United States. Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine was Best Overall for the twelfth year and received top honors for best research program.
