Freedman Delivers the Inaugural Edward G. Buckley Lecture

The Inaugural Edward G. Buckley Lecture in Pediatric Ophthalmology was held Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Duke Eye Center's AERI Auditorium. The lecture has been established by Edward G. Buckley, Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology. Buckley also serves as the Vice Dean for Education of Duke School of Medicine, Vice Chancellor for Duke-National University Singapore Affairs, James P. and Joy Gills, Professor of Ophthalmology and Professor in Pediatrics. 

Professor of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics and Chief of the Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Division, Sharon F. Freedman, MD, delivered the inaugural address. During her presentation, Freedman took the audience on a journey through her 30 year career at Duke and shared discoveries, lessons, and anecdotes from her time working along side Buckley.
