
Grace Prakalapakorn, MD, MPH represented Duke Eye Center as an invited speaker at the Asia Pacific Strabismus and Paediatric Ophthalmology Society (APSPOS) meeting, held from June 29 to July 1, 2025 held in Brisbane, Australia.
Prakalapakorn delivered a featured talk on “Semi-automated Vessel Analysis in Retinopathy of Prematurity,”highlighting innovative approaches to improving diagnostic precision in pediatric retinal disease.
In addition, Willem Wang, MD a former Duke-National University of Singapore (Duke-NUS) medical student, presented collaborative research conducted with Prakalapakorn, Sharon Freedman, MD and former faculty member, David Wallace, MD. His presentation, titled “Quantitative Validation of the P Score: A Reference Image-Based Grading Scale for Plus-Like Vascular Changes in Retinopathy of Prematurity,” showcased a novel method for standardizing the assessment of vascular changes in ROP.
