Cynthia Toth, MD gears her research towards optical coherence tomography (OCT). She is not only a world expert in the technology, but has even established the first use of a research hand-held spectral domain OCT system for infant examination and the first intraoperative OCT-guided ophthalmic surgical system.
She was recently on the panel Promising Practices Emerging from NEI partnerships at the Focus on Eye Health National Summit on July 18, 2018.
As a member of The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) “Telling the Story of OCT” Steering Committee, Toth talked about how research funding enabled her to develop and enhance OCT technology that catches preemie eye disease early enough to save sight.
