Fellow Schedule

Each of the three clinical fellows rotates monthly among the three blocks as shown below. Fellow A spends time with Dr. Freedman in her clinics and OR, as well as spending some time on Tuesday mornings with Dr. Dairi. Fellow B attends ROP rounds with Drs. Freedman and Prakalapakorn, and also spends time with Dr. Go in her clinic and OR, and Dr. Grace in her clinic and OR. Fellow B also has built-in time for research and sampling other pediatric ophthalmology subspecialties within the Department. Fellow C is with Dr. Enyedi in her clinics and OR, but also has clinic times with Dr. Dairi and Dr. Prakalapakorn.

Pediatric Consults

The fellows staff all pediatric ophthalmology consults with the second-year resident on Peds. The attendings are available to help with any questions that may arise with these consults.

Peds Call

Throughout the year, the fellows will take turns covering one week of Peds call at a time. This schedule is made by the Peds fellows at the beginning of the year. Most of the calls can be handled over the phone (e.g. post-operative questions, questions from trauma team), but certain calls such as post-operative complications or NAT consults will need to be seen in person by the Peds fellow on call.

Trauma Call

All of the surgical fellows across the different subspecialties will split trauma call. There are approximately 20 days of call total for each fellow, including 3 weekends. The trauma fellow is responsible for any trauma that arrives after hours, except for Mondays and weekends when you are responsible for the whole day. On the weekends, the trauma fellow will also staff inpatient consults with the first year resident on call.
