I have served as the Chief Administrator for Duke Ophthalmology since May 1, 2021, following seven years as the Director of Finance. In my current role, I provide strategic leadership across financial planning, resource allocation, and administrative operations that support our clinical, academic, and research missions.
A senior executive and key member of the department’s leadership team, committed to advancing excellence and innovation, I have had a pivotal role in the integration of our physician practice into the Duke University Health System. This complex initiative involved designing faculty compensation models, optimizing clinical operations, and contributing to institutional funds flow strategies. I also serve on several strategic committees that shape the department’s future.
Throughout my time at Duke Ophthalmology, I have championed financial stewardship and operational efficiency. As Director of Finance, I led cost-containment initiatives that delivered significant savings and sustained a positive operating margin. I also spearheaded the development of advanced practice policies and process improvements that have strengthened the department’s long-term success.
Before joining Duke Eye Center, I held leadership roles at Duke University Hospital, supporting Ambulatory Hospital-Based Clinics, Inpatient Pharmacy, Procedural Labs, and the Division of Gastroenterology. My healthcare journey began at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, now a Duke Health hospital, and continued as a Healthcare Reimbursement Associate at Dixon Hughes, PLLC.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Wofford College and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina.
