
Faculty and trainees from Duke Eye Center participated in the 43rd Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS), held July 30–August 2, 2025, in Long Beach, California.
We’re thrilled to share that Lejla Vajzovic, MD, FASRS, was honored with the ASRS Presidential Award, one of the society’s highest recognitions for outstanding contributions to retinal science and education.
Additional honors included:

- ASRS Honor Award: Majda Hadziahmetovic, MD
These awards recognize sustained commitment and contributions to the ASRS Annual Meeting.
Duke’s presence extended to the podium with 20 presentations, showcasing the center’s dedication to advancing retinal science and care.
A special congratulations to vitreoretinal fellow Angela Li, MD, who earned first place in the ASRS 2025 Creative Awards Ceremony for her poster, “Imaging Infants and Children With an Investigational Handheld Optical Coherence Tomography System With Widefield Lens.”
