Duke Fellows and Faculty Receive Top Honors from Vit-Buckle Society Annual Meeting

We are exited to announce that several of our the Duke Eye Center faculty and fellows received top honors at the 2017 Vit Buckle Society Annual Meeting (VBS).  

Lejla Vajzovic, MD won "Best Cowgirl Award" for the best female vitreoretinal surgeon. This award is

Tamer Mahmoud, MD, PhD won "Best Cowhand" aka surgical hand. 

Xi Chen, MD, PhD, and Avni Finn, MD Duke vitreoretinal surgery fellows both received VBS Fellow Travel Awards in a fierce national competition of surgical videos.  Chen and Finn were 2 of the 8 fellows that presented.
