Liu Selected for 2018 Robert Machemer Research Award

Katy Liu, MD, PhD, PGY3 has been selected for the 2018 Robert Machemer Resident Research Award for her proposal Biomechanical Trabecular Meshwork Stiffness in the Pathogeneisis.   She was chosen after a masked review of submissions.  Liu will present her work at the Annual Duke Ophthalmology Resident and Fellows Scientific Symposium.  Her mentor for this project was Dan Stamer, PhD. 

The Machemer Resident Research Award was established in honor of Duke Ophthalmology's former Chair Robert Machemer, MD.  It is given to one resident each academic year whose research proposal demonstrates intellectual curiosity and scientific originality.
