Duke retina specialists played prominent roles at this year's Women in Retina (WinR) Annual Meeting, contributing as presenters, moderators, and award recipients.
Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellow, Angela Li, MD, was among seven retina specialists selected to present cases during the WinR Case Conference, an interactive session that sparked engaging discussion among attendees. Sharon Fekrat, MD, FACS, FASRS, served as co-chair of the event alongside Talisa de Carlo Forest, MD.
At the WinR luncheon, Lejla Vajzovic, MD, FASRS, received the prestigious WinR Champion Award in recognition of her contributions to the field and her support of women in retina. The event also featured a panel discussion on leadership and the future of the specialty.
