The International Society for Eye Research (ISER) has selected W. Daniel Stamer, PhD as the recipient of the 2026 Ernst H. Bárány Prize, one of the field’s most distinguished international honors.
The Bárány Prize recognizes exceptional contributions to the understanding of ocular pharmacology. Dr. Stamer was chosen for his influential research that has advanced knowledge of aqueous humor dynamics and mechanisms regulating intraocular pressure, work that has shaped modern approaches to glaucoma therapy.
As part of the award, Dr. Stamer has been invited to deliver a Plenary Lecture at the XXVII Biennial Meeting of ISER, to be held August 23–27, 2026, in Valencia, Spain. The prize will be formally presented immediately prior to his lecture.
ISER leadership praised Dr. Stamer’s scientific impact, mentorship, and longstanding commitment to advancing vision research worldwide.
