Our own Eleonora Lad, MD, PhD was selected to serve as Heed Foundation Retreat Faculty during the 15th Annual HOF Residents Retreat held October 5-6, 2020.
During the sessions, residents mingled with academic ophthalmologists to learn how young faculty members made the transition from trainee to academician. Among the many topics discussed are how faculty combine patient care with positions/involvement in clinical research, lab research, residency program leadership, medical student educator, fellowship program director, NEI/NIH faculty, VA faculty, and/or public health/international ophthalmology, to achieve highly rewarding academic careers.
Lad presented "The Path I Chose and Why" and described the retreat as "an outstanding, enriching experience, as the meeting is studded with the brightest stars of US academic ophthalmology."
Congratulations on this prestigious honor!
