Professor of Ophthalmology Sanjay Asrani, MD authored the cover article for Glaucoma Today's March/April Issue where he discusses "Screening and Establishing a Diagnosis With OCT".
Asrani also recaps his presentation from the American Glaucoma Society annual meeting and explains that OCT helps to evaluate the progression of changes in the nuclear layer in patients’ eyes. He also stresses that diagnosis via artificial intelligence is limited because thinning layers in patients’ eyes could be due to coexisting pathologies rather than only glaucoma.
