Duke Earns Most Wired Recognition

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) has recognized Duke University Health System (DUHS) in its “Most Wired” Awards. DUHS earned the Performance Excellence Award and granted status as a Digital Health Certified Acute Level 9 organization. The goal of CHIME’s “Most Wired” program is to elevate the health and care of communities around the world by encouraging the optimal use of information technology. The program does this by conducting an annual survey to identify, recognize, and certify the adoption, implementation, and use of information technology by healthcare provider organizations. The results are intended to improve patient safety and outcomes by driving change in the healthcare IT industry.

DUHS was one of 30,135 organizations to complete this year’s survey. In addition to a customized benchmarking report, participants received certification based on their overall performance, with level 10 being the highest. As a level 9 organization, DUHS is being recognized as a leader in healthcare technology who actively pushes the industry forward. Level 9 organizations, like DUHS, leverage advanced technologies in innovative ways and encourage deep adoption across their entire organization, realizing meaningful outcomes such as improved quality of care, improved patient experience, reduced costs, and broader patient access to healthcare services. Some of the advanced technologies used to achieve these outcomes include telehealth solutions, price-transparency and cost-analysis tools, access to data at the point of care, and tools to engage patients and their families throughout the care process.

2020 has brought many unique challenges to the healthcare industry and Duke Health has risen to the challenge through exceptional teamwork, innovation, and our dedication to quality. We are honored to be recognized as a 2020 CHIME Digital Health Most Wired organization and look forward to continuing as a leader in next generation healthcare technology.
