Duke Ophthalmology Welcomes World-Renown Researcher Botond Roska, PhD

As part of Duke Ophthalmology's Science Visiting Professor Series, world renowned thought leader in retinal circuitry, Professor Botond Roska gave a presentation titled, “Restoring Vision Using Optogenetics” at the Duke Eye Center on March 8, 2017. Prof Roska is from the University of Basel, Switzerland and Senior group leader at the Friedrich Miescher Institute in Basel. He described exciting progress being made towards restoring function in diseased cones (and thus vision) in Retinitis Pigmentosa patients using a multi-platform approach that includes gene therapy.
