Duke Team Awarded Best Poster at National Pediatric Meeting

Sharon Freedman, MD and team received Best Poster Award at the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS) held April 6-10 in Vancouver for the poster "Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography (SDOCT) Imaging of the Vascular-Avascular Junction in the Nursery in Infants with Retinopathy of Permaturity." The research concludes that it is possible to use handheld SDOCT to image and monitor the development of inner retinal layers at the vascular-avascular junction and the results provide noel information of timing and pattern of neural and vascular development during retinopathy of prematurely (ROP) in preterm infants.
