Liton Lab Research Scientist Awarded Shaffer Prize by the Glaucoma Research Foundation

Research Scientist in the Liton Lab, Myoungsup Sim, PhD, has been awarded the 2024 Shaffer Prize by the Glaucoma Research Foundation for having the most outstanding research project among the Shaffer Grant awardees in 2022. Dr. Sim's groundbreaking project titled "Primary Cilia-mediated Nitric Oxide Production in Schlemm’s Canal Cells" has been recognized as exemplary in advancing our understanding of glaucoma pathophysiology and treatment.

The Glaucoma Research Foundation's Shaffer Grants program serves as an innovation hub, fostering collaboration and providing critical seed funding to propel glaucoma research forward. Named in honor of glaucoma pioneer Robert N. Shaffer, MD, this grant empowers researchers to pursue high-risk, high-reward investigations aimed at unraveling the complexities of glaucoma.
