Atalie Thompson, MD, MPH, PGY3 was one of 20 selected to receive a 2018-2019 Heed Fellowship Award given by the Heed Ophthalmic Fellowship Foundation. The Award provides talented young men and women with funding for postgraduate studies in ophthalmology and the ophthalmic sciences.
Recipients are selected among a competitive application process and the appointed individuals receive a Merit Award of $10,000 and are recognized as Heed Fellow. Duke Ophthalmology is proud to have a a long history of Heed Fellows.
Established by Thomas Heed in 1945, the Heed Ophthalmic Foundation. The Foundation has provided over 11 million dollars in funding and awarded over 1,100 fellowships.
