We are proud to announce that incoming vitroretinal surgery fellow, Venkatkrish M. Kasetty, MD, has been honored with the 2024 Heed Fellowship by the Heed Ophthalmic Foundation. Kastetty is currently completing an ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and will begin his two-year fellowship in July 2024.
The Heed Ophthalmic Foundation, founded in 1945 by Thomas Heed, provides postgraduate fellowships to individuals of exceptional ability to promote the advancement of education and research in ophthalmology. Heed Fellows each receive a $10,000 Merit Award. Since its establishment, the foundation has provided over 11 million dollars in funding and awarded over 1,100 fellowships.
