India’s biggest annual conference on eye surgery, The Annual Conference of Intraocular Implant
& Refractive Society of India (IIRSI), took place July 7, 2018 in Chennai, India.
Over 2,000 ophthalmologists from around the world attend the two-day event to demonstrate
their skills and display the latest advancements in the field.
Awards are also presented to distinguished ophthalmologists, honoring their substantial work in
ophthalmology.
Duke Eye Center’s very own Preeya Gupta, MD received an award of excellence and was
presented the honor by Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu.
The IIRSI showcases ophthalmic ability and creates a platform for ophthalmologists to meet and
share knowledge as to better provide eye care to patients.
