The 57th annual meeting of the Retina Society was held September 11-15, 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal. Several Duke Retina Faculty and trainees participated in the meeting, including Durga Borkar, MD, MMCi, Sharon Fekrat, MD, FACS, FASRS, Majda Hadziahmetovic, MD, Glenn Jaffe, MD, Eleonora Lad, MD, PhD, Cynthia Toth, MD, Lejla Vajzovic, MD, FASRS, Michalis Georgiou, MD, PhD, Tammy Hsu, MD, Mustafa Iftikhar, MD, Angela Li, MD and Hemal Patel.
The Retina Society strives to "reduce worldwide visual disability and blindness by encouraging education and professional interaction of vitreoretinal specialists, providing optimal care for patients with vitreoretinal diseases, promoting through clinical and basic research, the discovery and development of new means to further patient care."
