Duke Represented at First Ever AMSA/SNMA Virtual Exhibit Fair

We are pleased to announce that Duke Ophthalmology was well represented during the first ever American Medical Student Association/Student National Medical Association Virtual Exhibit Fair held last Friday, April 17, 2020.

The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) is committed to supporting current and future underrepresented minority medical students, addressing the needs of underserved communities, and increasing the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent and socially conscious physicians.

SNMA, in partnership with the AMSA, hosted the Annual Medical Education Conference Online 2020 as a virtual conference and exhibit fair. This gathering utilized the latest in online platforms to host workshops and engage in an innovative virtual exhibit fair tailored specifically for SNMA members and attendees. Duke Ophthalmology had an amazing showing of faculty, staff, students and leadership including glaucoma specialist Jullia Rosdahl, MD, PhD, glaucoma fellow Lindsay Dawson, MD and Duke medical students Maria Gomez-Caraballo (MS3+), Nick Johnson (MS2) and Camille Robinson (MS1). We have much appreciation for Jeanine Holland from the Office of Diversity and Inclusion who organized this for Duke. Participating in AMSA/SNMA to showcase our educational programs to underrepresented minorities, highlights Duke Ophthalmology's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
