Duke Eye Center Hosts BOOST Program
Duke Eye Center welcomed 6th grade scholars from the School of Medicine BOOST program on Saturday February 18, 2023. Students rotated between stations to get a glimpse of the wide variety of research, clinical, and surgical opportunities in the ophthalmology field.Thank you to Yos Priestly OD and Julia Rosdahl MD, PhD for spearheading the event!
Workplace Eye Wellness Month
March is Workplace Eye Wellness Month. About 2,000 workers sustain job-related eye injuries each day, however most of these injuries could be prevented by taking simple precautions. During Workplace Eye Wellness Month this March, the American Academy of Ophthalmology reminds employers and workers about the importance of wearing eye protection.
National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month
March is National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. This observance seeks to raise awareness about the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in all facets of community life as well as bring attention to the the barriers that people with disabilities still face in connection to the communities in which they live.
International Women's Day
March 8: A day celebrated globally focused on the historical, political, and cultural achievements of women. Also a day to acknowledge the valuable addition women are to the world

March 31: Honors and celebrates transgender and non-binary individuals all around the world to raise awareness about the discrimination faced.
